AC receives grant from the Minnesota Historical Society to assist with the mounting of the Giving Vision and Voice to the Minnesota River Valley, a collaborative exhibition to record the present day history of what it is like to be living in the valley of the Minnesota River. The exhibit will take place at the Arts Center and the Treaty Site History Center from December 4 through February 1, 2009. Watch for details.

Thanks to funds provided by the Carl & Verna Schmidt Foundation and Prairie Ecology Bus Center, Lakefield and granted to the Arts Center of Saint Peter by Prairie Lakes allowed the Center to add two pieces to its permanent collection. Becky Carmondy’s “Escaping Conformity,” a lino print and Denise Friesen’s “Pond at Prairies Edge,” a monoprint were selected by members of the AC Gallery Committee.

Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council surprised the Arts Center of Saint Peter with an additional $300 for our current year budget. The funds were a portion of the funds received from the Minnesota State Legislature. The additional monies will be used to support our performance programming. The Arts Center is sincerely appreciative of the additional support.
